LOUISE KEATS INTRODUCES SWEET NOURISH

Following on from the success of Cooking for your Baby & Toddler (shop now AU / NZ) and Something for Everyone (shop now AU / NZ) , Louise Keats has created 80 recipes to nourish your body and soul. Filled with delectable treats – from cakes and pies to ice creams, biscuits and drinks – Louise’s recipes have less refined sugar and more goodness, so you can still have a healthy, nourishing diet without missing out on dessert!

COOKING WITH SUGAR

Join Louise Keats as she discusses the role of sweeteners in cooking and baking as part of her cookbook and recipe chip, Sweet nourish.

When choosing a sweetener to cook with, it is best not to think of any added sugar as a health food. All sugars – whether they contain fructose such as honey, or glucose like rice malt syrup can contribute to weight gain and dental problems. So, the starting point is, the less sugar, the better. Some sweeteners rate better on the health stakes than others.

ALMOND QUINOA PASTRY

This is the perfect substitute pastry in place of a regular shortcrust. This vegetarian, delicious, nourishing recipe can be used to make the Ricotta Fruit Tart and the Lemon Tart, or your favourite tart or pie.

Made with butter, egg, quinoa flakes, raw almonds, plain and wholemeal flour, and cold water, this pastry takes less than a minute to whip up in the Thermomix®.

Check out the full recipe in the Sweet Nourish cookbook and recipe chip available now at The Mix Shop™ (AU / NZ).

LEMON TART

This delicious vegetarian lemon tart recipe is featured in Louise Keats cookbook, Sweet nourish, which will be available now from The Mix Shop™ (AU / NZ).

This delicious tart strikes the perfect citrus balance. Not too tart, not too sweet, not too rich.

You will need a batch of Quinoa almond pastry (recipe also from Sweet Nourish) for the tart base. A video showing you the recipe for the Quinoa almond base is available here.
